Radio Ready has published the Metadata Manifesto, a practical guide designed to support broadcasters in shaping how radio is presented in connected car environments.
As in-car experiences become more voice-driven, screen-constrained and algorithmically mediated, metadata plays a critical role in ensuring radio services remain visible, recognisable and easy to select. Without strong metadata, listeners cannot reliably discover or recall stations in increasingly hands-free environments.
As dashboards and in-car interfaces evolve, metadata plays a critical role in ensuring radio services are easy to find, clearly branded, and visually engaging for listeners. Developed with input from industry experts, this guidance provides clear and actionable recommendations to help broadcasters optimise their metadata provision and distribution.
The resource was launched at the World DAB Automotive Forum in Frankfurt and reflects a shared industry focus on strengthening radio’s position in increasingly competitive digital ecosystems.
